Mission Statent 

Our mission is to help eliminate or alleviate the
causes and effects of poverty in the Greater Bristol area.

 

BCO is a private nonprofit Community Action Agency serving the young, the elderly, persons with disabilities, low-income individuals and families in the Greater Bristol Area.

Rx FOR SUCCESS
BCO is currently recruiting young adults aged 16-21 for its new program, Rx for Success: Your Career in Healthcare. We are looking for young adults who have received their Diploma or GED and have been considering attending college for an Allied Health related career. The Rx for Success program is a comprehensive college pathway and career preparation program that takes a holistic approach to guiding young people into careers. Career counseling, financial aid assistance, skill certifications, career competency training, instruction at BCO and on campus, and employment opportunities are all included. This program is one of Capital Workforce Partners’ Workforce Investment Act Out-of-School Youth programs, funded by the U.S. Department of Labor. 

 
Requirements for the program are as follows: 
•  Young adults aged 16-21. 
•  Workforce Investment Act income eligibility. 
•  Residence in North Central Connecticut. 
•  Young adults who are prepared for a 2-year program commitment.
•  Young adults with a High School Diploma or GED.
•  Young adults interested in pursuing an Allied Health profession starting at Tunxis Community College.
•  Young adults who need help brushing up on their Math, English or Science.
