The Head Start Program is a federal and state funded comprehensive child development program serving children from low-income families. Children are provided with a learning environment that will help them develop socially, intellectually, physically, and emotionally in a manner appropriate to their age and stage of development. The program goal is to allow the child and the parents to participate in a variety of educational activities, which help them to succeed. Services include family support, advocacy, education, physical health, mental health, nutrition, social services, and family involvement programs. BCO serves four classrooms of preschool children ages 3 and 4. Breakfast and lunch are provided daily. BCO has two site locations for Head Start classrooms; two classrooms are located at 55 South Street and two classrooms are located at 254 Lake Avenue.
